These terms are an agreement between you and Emir Çınar, the independent developer based in Türkiye who makes Blungie (“we”, “us”). They apply to the Blungie app for Android, to our earlier app English Ecosystem: Learn A1-B1 (see Our earlier app and Blungie Pro) and to blungie.com. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Blungie is an Android app (Android 8.0 or later) that helps you learn English vocabulary with picture cards, example sentences, meanings in your language and short review games. Our library of words is growing over time.
The current version is free to use: there are no purchases, no subscriptions and no ads. We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If we do, we will explain them clearly before they launch, and we will never charge you without your explicit agreement.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Blungie. If you are not yet an adult where you live, please use Blungie with the permission of a parent or guardian, who then also accepts these terms on your behalf.
- When you first open the app, it creates a guest account for you. Later, you can create an account with your email and a password, or continue with Google, so you can keep your progress across devices.
- Keep your sign-in details safe and don’t share your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.
- Guest progress belongs to the app on that phone. If you sign out, uninstall the app or lose your phone without creating an account, your progress may be lost.
- Guest progress moves only to a new account that you create. It isn’t merged into an account that already exists.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, unless it happens because of our fault.
Please don’t:
- copy, scrape or download our content in bulk, or use it to build another product or to train AI models;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
- try to gain unauthorized access to our systems or to other people’s accounts or data, or try to get around our security measures or limits;
- disrupt or overload the service, or use bots or other automated tools;
- use collection names, problem reports or emails to harass anyone, or to share unlawful, hateful or offensive content or other people’s personal data;
- use Blungie for any unlawful purpose.
The app, the website and everything in them belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by law. This includes the word cards, artwork, example sentences, translations, audio, design, software, and the Blungie name and logo. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Blungie for your own non-commercial learning. You may share collection links and screenshots for personal use.
About AI. Our voices are generated with AI, and our artwork is created with AI tools under our direction. Translations are prepared with the help of AI and checked in an AI-assisted review; they are not certified by native speakers. We take great care over quality, but mistakes can still slip through. If you spot one, tap “Report a problem” on the word or write to us.
You can create content in the app, such as collection names, and you can send us problem reports and emails. You keep any rights you have in this content. You allow us to store, process and display it as needed to run Blungie, and to use your reports to fix and improve our content. Please don’t include personal information in collection names or reports. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
Anyone who has a share link can see the collection’s name and its words, and can add them to their own Blungie. Because this information is part of the link’s web address, we can’t take back a link once you have sent it. Only share what you are happy for others to see.
We work to keep Blungie reliable, but we can’t promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Most features need an internet connection. Recently viewed cards and some reviews keep working through short connection drops, and your actions sync when you’re back online.
We may update, change or remove features and content, for example to improve learning, or for legal or security reasons. If we plan to shut down the service completely, we will tell you a reasonable time in advance, so you can export your data from the app before it closes.
Blungie is a learning tool. How much you learn depends on many things, including how you use the app, so we can’t guarantee any particular result, such as passing an exam or reaching a certain level.
Except as stated in these terms, and as far as the law allows, Blungie is provided “as is” and “as available”. This doesn’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunities that arise from your use of Blungie. Where the law allows a limit, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, including under mandatory consumer law.
You can stop using Blungie at any time and delete your account, either in the app (Profile → Account & privacy → Delete my account) or by email. See Delete your account.
We may suspend or close an account if it is used in a way that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or harms other people or the service, or if the law requires it. Where possible, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to respond.
Provisions that by their nature should continue after your use ends, such as content rights, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law, stay in effect.
This section applies to our earlier app, English Ecosystem: Learn A1-B1 (previously called Next Stage English and, for a time, also published under the Blungie name). It applies in addition to the rest of these terms.
- Accounts: you sign in with your Google account.
- Fair play: in leaderboards, friends, tournaments and matches, don’t cheat, exploit bugs or use automated tools to change scores. Treat other players with respect, and choose a display name that doesn’t impersonate anyone or cause offence.
- Ads: the free version may show ads served by Google AdMob. See the Privacy Policy.
Blungie Pro subscriptions
- Subscription: Blungie Pro is an optional, auto-renewing subscription sold through Google Play, with monthly and yearly plans.
- Free trial: where a trial is offered, new subscribers can try Pro for free for the period shown. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it turns into a paid subscription.
- Price: shown in the app and on Google Play’s payment screen before you confirm. Prices may vary by country.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the period ends.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in Google Play: in the Play Store, tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds: payments are handled by Google Play, and refunds follow Google Play’s refund policies. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
- Benefits: as described in the app, including an ad-free experience. We won’t significantly reduce the core benefits of an active paid plan without telling you in advance.
- Deleting your account doesn’t cancel your subscription. Cancel it in Google Play first.
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. If a change affects you significantly, we will announce it before it takes effect, on this website and, where possible, in the app. If you keep using Blungie after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree with them, you can stop using Blungie and delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction over disputes. This doesn’t take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim there.
If you are a consumer in Türkiye, you can also apply to the consumer arbitration committee or the consumer court for your area, within the monetary limits set by law.
- If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we don’t give it up.
- You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to someone else. If Blungie is transferred to a new owner, we may transfer these terms too; we will tell you, and your rights won’t be reduced.
- These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Blungie.
